M&H Valve is seeking a Core Room Utility in Anniston Alabama.

Summary

Responsible for operating the core machine from set up to racking, ensuring that quality systems function effectively and products to meet customer requirements, and cleanliness of the production areas.

Pay: $23.77 per hour

Responsibilities
  • 1st Responsibility - Ensuring personal safety and the safety of your team members.
  • Assists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Wear appropriate PPE which may include fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head and eye protection.
  • Uses proper lifting and ergo techniques.
  • Reads work orders or receives oral instructions to determine work assignments, material or equipment needs.
  • Follows detailed job specific instructions to make sure castings are produced in the most efficient manner and to meet customer specifications.
  • Operates pneumatic and hand hoists, tow motors, and related equipment.
  • Conducts daily inspection of equipment.
  • Selects the appropriate core box from work order and set-up the machine, making all necessary operation adjustments.
  • Inspects cores for any defects and repair cores as needed.
  • Sifts and packs sand into core boxes.
  • Cleans and smooths core boxes and repairs surface imperfections.
  • Reports production quantities and times for each work order.
  • Loads cores in and out of oven.
  • Removes cores from core boxes and places them into storage boxes or onto racks for transport to molding area.
  • Labels and identifies cores with rack tags.
  • Keeps core boxes clean and reports any excessive wear or damage to supervisor.
  • Cleans, repairs and assembles finished cores per instructions.
  • Maintains cleanliness of core machines and production area.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma/GED preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
