Overview

Job Purpose

At ICE, the Senior Product Manager plays a critical role in the software development lifecycle, acting as the CEO of the product. The Senior Product Manager participates in the entire product lifecycle, from setting strategy to go to market, including the steps in between including requirements, systems analysis, software development, quality assurance, launch, and post-launch support activities. The Senior Product Manager is responsible for business outcomes for their products, with a mindset of "100% personal accountability" for all things related to the product(s) they manage.

The successful Senior Product Manager at ICE is the "go to" person for all things related to the product. They will have an extremely deep understanding of how their products work, how their assigned products work with other ICE Mortgage Technology products and services, and how those products meet the needs of organizations and individuals as the users in the mortgage industry. Senior Product Managers are expected to establish the product strategy, roadmap, and go to market plan. Senior Product Managers are accountable for managing the matrixed organization in order to execute those strategies, roadmaps and plans to successful outcomes.

Acting as CEO of the product, the Senior Product Manager ensures the successful execution of the organization against their plans. This includes execution within the engineering, sales, marketing, support, deployment, operations, legal, compliance, and other organizations affecting the product. As a consummate team player, the Senior Product Manager is expected to be adept at managing relationships and collaborating across the organization. The Senior Product Manager guides a large cross-functional team, and may directly manage a small team of business analysts.

The Senior Product Manager should be prepared to make decisions with imperfect information, adept at leading without authority, and comfortable with multiple simultaneous projects and rapid pace of change. A successful Senior Product Manager will combine the ability to create, see, and explain the big picture with the drive and determination to make that big picture a reality through a serious execution mindset. The Senior Product Manager is a strategist who can translate ICE Mortgage Technology's high-level vision and goals into actionable tasks. These tasks include setting the product strategy, prioritizing features, building consensus, coordinating product schedules and managing go to market strategies. Post production, the Senior Product Manager will live and breathe the performance numbers associated with their product, ensuring a viable and continuous growth and evolution of the usage of their product through in market activities and product enhancements.

Senior Product Managers are typically engaged with multiple agile development teams, and have to be communication experts. The effective communication of plans, strategies, requirements, features, and customer value propositions to constituents up, down, and across the ICE organization is vital to success.

Responsibilities
  • Drive and own product vision and strategy, including articulating the value of the core/critical, highest visibility and most complicated products (e.g. growth, revenue, market penetration, or customer satisfaction).
  • Develop and maintain competitive analyses, identifying new players, trends and opportunities
  • Identify, track and manage product adoption metrics.
  • Collect and integrate into product strategy comprehensive competitor and market research, as well as analysis of win/loss, attrition, customer feedback and technical support data.
  • Analyze market opportunities and collaborate with leadership to choose the best options to pursue
  • Identify potential buy/build/partner opportunities for product including potential partner relationship analysis
  • Develop and maintain a multi-year roadmap that demonstrates the vision and plan for future opportunities
  • Maintain a healthy, balanced roadmap/backlog that delivers value to our customers with new or enhanced features, healthy defect management, technical refresh allocation, and contributions your product makes to larger initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain business proposals, creating compelling cases for continued investment into your products
  • Ensure all aspects of readiness are met, including Finance (SKU creation and pricing approval through Pricing Committee), Legal (contract creation), Tech Support, Operations, Product Marketing and Sales
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders such as Product Marketing, Sales, Marketing, Professional Services, and operations to ensure a successful in market experience for your products
  • Drive release of product from concept through launch and adoption. Create and execute roadmap; prioritize features linking business, competitive, and user needs. Create content plans and define personas.
  • Guide Business Analyst in the creation of engineering product specifications to ensure alignment and fulfillment of product requirements.
  • Ensure product roadmap and product execution plans incorporate accessibility requirements, including compliance with ICE's ADA guidelines, as they evolve
  • Create user stories and epics for current and future products based on the market's problems
  • Manage the entire product life-cycle from prototyping and testing new concepts to sunsetting legacy products.
  • Know why products are winning and losing in the market and drive change to product and processes for improvement
  • Initiate and lead cross-organizational changes necessary to support your product and ensure its success in the market.
  • Initiate, lead, and champion changes to the product development life cycle.
  • Mentor and lead other product managers
Knowledge and Experiences

  • Proven ability to understand business and engineering perspectives to create stories to deliver solutions
  • Ability to analyze and clearly communicate business requirements as a key input to the product development process
  • Proven ability to drive go-to-market activities to meet business P&L goals
  • Ability to learn fast and ask questions in order to solve problems
  • Track record of working effectively with remote teams
  • Presentation experience in front of large audiences (internal & external facing)
  • Incredible written and verbal Communication Skills
  • Self-starter and willing to work independently
  • Excellent Collaboration skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Prior experience working with cross-functional teams, including product management, user experience, legal, development, quality assurance, support, marketing and sales
  • Self-motivated as well as a strong team player
  • 15% travel
  • Microsoft Office Ninja (especially Power Point)
  • Proven ability to write functional requirements.
  • Experience leading and mentoring other product managers
  • Proven ability to lead organizational changes required as a result of product introduction and enhancements.
  • 8+ years of product management experience at a SAAS company required; relevant industry experience is highly desirable
  • Relevant Bachelor's degree required, MBA desirable. Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including product management, legal, development, quality assurance, support, marketing and sales
  • Self-motivated as well as a strong team player
  • Mortgage industry experience with Capital Markets, Secondary Marketing, and Product and Pricing Engines (PPE) is highly desirable
  • Encompass experience is highly desirable
