Job Description

Named a Best Place to Work, this local Birminghamcompany is hiring for a Senior Accountant in charge of working in general ledger accounting, cash receipts and deposits, and financial reporting.Culture is king, and they really focus on teamwork and and a collaborative environment. In this role, you will assist in the maintenance of the general ledger and month-end close reporting, assist in the preparation of annual budgets, and work on various special projects including ad hoc analyses.

Responsibilities:

  • Review, audit, and analyze select financial statements
  • Assist in the accurate and timely reporting of month-end close procedures
  • Provide assist in the budgeting process
  • Maintain and review of internal controls, ensuring accurate presentation of financial statements, and safeguarding company assets
  • Responsible for daily cash management functions and reporting and accurately initiate the GL entries for cash receipt disbursements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA is a plus, not required
  • Experience in healthcare is highly desired
  • 2+ years professional accounting experience, public accounting is highly preferred
  • Superb communication skills with the ability to work and collaborate with different teams
  • High attention to detail, ability to problem solve, team player
  • Advanced Excel skills
