Job Description

U.S. CITIZENS ONLY! Due to the nature of our research and the necessity to obtain security clearance, the Engineering division of Kratos SRE is only permitted to consider and hire U.S. Citizens for this position. Permanent Residents and Visa-holders are not eligible for employment.

General Summary

This full-time position is in the Systems Development Department of Kratos SRE and is a highly motivated and self-driven role that will focus on research and development using FPGAs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, integrate, and test hardware assurance and signal processing technologies in FPGAs.
  • Run data collection exercises and acceptance testing of on-chip technologies.
  • Develop use cases and tradeoffs for FPGA designs.
  • Maintain and document code.
  • Provide quantitative data and well-documented reports on testing results and demonstrations.
  • Troubleshoot issues using simulations and bench-top tests.
  • Document block diagrams, schematics, and process flows.
  • Perform independent critical thinking and creative problem solving for experimental systems.

Required Experience:

Minimum Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain DOD/IC Security Clearance.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 2-5 years of experience with commercial FPGAs with knowledge of Verilog/VHDL
  • Experience with VHDL code and digital logic design
  • Experience with MATLAB or Python
  • Ability to read and create schematics.
  • Willing to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Self-motivated and able to perform independent work.
  • Knowledge of physically unclonable functions (PUFs) and other hardware assurance technologies and techniques.
  • Experience with stress testing FPGA designs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience modeling and simulating analog and digital architectures.
  • Strong mathematical problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
