What You'll Do:

Project Management: Manage large enterprise commercial projects and initiatives. Work closely with Senior Leadership as well as the Commercial Excellence and Logistics teams to develop, plan, manage and lead commercial innovation projects and initiatives designed to optimize and enhance sales and sales support activities while enabling consistent application of The Vulcan Way of Sales. Projects may include organizational sales training, updating/improving CRM, pricing analytics, project lead and customer prospecting and customer contact tools as well as implementing a replacement for current sales budgeting tools. Develop project plans to include requirements and standards and deliver recommendations to Senior Leadership. Set project goals and milestones and develop plans in conjunction with organization and division leadership to meet those goals. Realigns schedules and expectations as needed. Work closely with sales, SSC, logistics and business solutions teams to understand needs and identify solutions.
Continuous Improvement: Engage with local markets sales, SSC, dispatch and logistics teams, gather feedback from key stakeholders and develop innovative recommendations to adapt our approach, and provide strategic guidance and direction to internal customers throughout the company. Identify, recommend and implement new sales technologies and innovations to better service our customers, provide value to our sales teams and allow the sales and logistics teams to operate more efficiently.
Change Management: Establish and implement project communication plans, providing status updates to affected staff and stakeholders. Maintain project timelines, budgeting estimates and status reports. Identify and communicate critical information to both internal and external project stakeholders. Facilitate and follow up on issue resolution with all project stakeholders. Analyze key learnings from projects and develop future best practices.
Resource Management: Manage resources necessary to support the project to include coordinating project team members and developing schedules and individual responsibilities. Assign and oversee the daily tasks of technical personnel while ensuring all team members are actively working toward established milestones. Use project management tools to track project performance and schedule adherence. Hold regular team meetings to determine progress and address any questions or challenges regarding projects. Conduct risk assessments for projects.
Progress Reports and KPIs: Collect, analyze, and summarize information and trends as needed to prepare project status reports. Design, implement, monitor and communicate metrics dashboards to key stakeholders. Report on key performance indicators to continually improve the effectiveness of the commercial excellence function.
Industry Engagement: Represents the Company with customers and at industry associations meetings and various events.

Qualifications

Skills You'll Need:

Education and Experience: BS / BA degree in Business or similar or an equivalent combination of training or 5+ years of work experience in Sales and/or Marketing driving projects.

Interpersonal Skills. Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with executives and hourly employees alike, and able to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and executive presence.

Strategic mindset: Sees ahead to future possibilities and translates them into breakthrough strategies.

Travel: Minimum 25% travel
